(Not something she's not used to. She should probably let him know she sucks a-real bad. Probably. She will. Just, you know, not now now, immediately. Now it's interesting.

God, she sucks. These thoughts are repressed to the moon and back, to the very least.)

( Oh. Well. If she's inviting him over...

He doesn't bother to reply back — takes a moment to really think that over before he drops down from the sky and, like before, gently taps at her window there with the tips of his fingers. Why not go inside and use the door? Because that's for nerds. Besides, he was already up in the sky anyways, so. )

(It's not hard to track him. Sophie feels him approaching, does a last check of her hair, and the cute three-piece loungewear she has on: leggings, a cropped shirt, and a cardigan. All checks, and by the time he does tap the window, she chuckles — she too would agree that using the door is for nerds. This is a tad more exciting.

She opens the window without hesitation, a smile curling at the edges of her lips.)

Hey, handsome.

( With being here in the mansion and there being access to clothing options where money isn't an option — not that it ever was really when he's a telepath but you know — he's not in his usual clothes this time around. Instead, he's got cropped black pants and a white t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his shoulders. Nothing as bright or bold as Quentin might wear, but. Not the same damn thing he tends to wear either, so. It's a win.

When she opens the window and greets him, he smiles some — hand coming up to rest against the windowpane above him while his foot gently steps down onto the bottom of it. )

Think it might be weird now if I ever use the door.

(God forbid Nate actually thinks in Quentin's direction in a moment like this. It'd be a bucket of cold water for her, promptly, icy, and she'd be mad.

She's taking in the outfit, it's a very nice change. Nothing against his go-to, it's just a fresh view when she's already used to one. The words reward him with another chuckle, and she shrugs as she pulls him into her room — pink and white decorations, the best, most comfortable furniture she could find, a strike of a fancy vibe even if money isn't a thing in Etraya.)

At this point? Pretty underwhelming to use the door when I'm expecting you through the window.

( He lets her tug him inside, hand slipping away from the windowpane as feet touch the ground. He has a room for himself here in the mansion and it... certainly doesn't look like this. His room, in all honesty, is actually very plain given the fact that he's never had much to begin with. Whether or not he'll add more to it is anyone's guess, but it's not anything he's concerned with at the moment. He does take a second to look around her room though. )

Your room's pretty fancy.

( He looks back to her — smiles. )

Suits you.

You can take the money away from the girl, but not her fancy taste.

(Although, quite frankly, she loved being ridiculously rich. It does hinder her day-to-day now, but this is not the subject she is thinking of discussing. She did tell him, very straight-forwardly, what was on her mind. He didn't even have to go digging, something she notices that he doesn't do half as much as she does, or at least, she doesn't sense him doing it.

So, Sophie finds it well-warned and fair that she wraps arms around his shoulder to bring him a bit closer.)

( Given their previous telepathic chat earlier, there really should be little in the way of surprise when her arms come around him and yet, still, there's a flicker in those blue eyes of his for just a fleeting moment before he instinctively albeit gently snakes an arm around her waist. Keeps her close but not too close, smile soft — stupidly sweet — on his lips as he looks to her. )

Am I part of that fancy taste?

(No denying that this is charming. It's almost like a dance, flirting even when the intentions have been directly laid out. Her own grin reflects his, although perhaps a little more playful and mischievous than the one he gives her.)

It's not every day I get to kiss a knight in shining armor.

[overconfidently]

( While he may not have the traditional knight armor, psi-armor on the other hand, well. Close enough. But her calling him such a thing gets him to chuckle a little sheepishly — duck his head for only a moment before he's looking back up to her, flicking those white bangs of his out of his face as he does. )

So we're going with that, huh? ( He smiles. ) Guess that makes you the princess then.

That was never up for questioning.

(The looks, the walk, the everything.

One of her arms retreats, only so her digits can move some of that hair away from his face, take in the shyness in his expression, the blueness of his eyes similar to her own. He's adorable, there's no other way around that, in a way that makes her sigh a little.

And she's the one who tip toes to meet his lips.)

( He wants to say guess it wasn't up for questioning, but then she's brushing his bangs out of his face like she is and staring to him while he stares at her. Quiet. Curious. Trying not to remember what— who this reminds him of when she leans up and kisses him then and he just... goes with it.

Gently, he pulls her in a little closer — brings his other hand up to hold at the small of her back along with the other. Slow and sweet with both kiss and touches, blocking out anything or anyone who might try and creep up on him from his past and wrap them up in a bubble of warmth, keeping them safe in this little moment here in a very pink and white room. )

(She might have called him sweet a lot of times, but this just ensures that the pet name never dies. He's so careful with her, unsurprisingly so — she had a feeling he would be, always gentle, always nice.

She's much more aggressive than he is, but she, too, is testing the waters, seeing what he does and how his lips feel against her pair, which is why, with curiosity guiding her, she pulls him closer.)

( It’s not as if he really needed incentive to come back from Solmara if he gets asked by Aurora to go, but. He’s also not about to go and say that when she’s pulling him in closer and her lips are there against his own, so. Again, he just goes with it.

He tips his head some — hands gentle in the way they smooth themselves along the small of her back, just barely moving up before they’re falling back down again, holding to her waist instead with her pressing in so much more closer to him. If he were to ever play bingo with his life, this right here certainly wouldn’t have been a square on his card and yet, here he is, stamping the Make out with Another Telepath/Possible Teammate square right here in the mansion he never thought he’d step foot in. Precognition definitely didn’t show this.

When he breaks the kiss, it’s to give himself a second — forehead pressed to hers and breath a warm tickle against soft lips. Blue eyes just barely open, a smile quietly comes to him then. )

Maybe I should volunteer for potentially dangerous missions more often.

(And she hasn't even started the telepathic bullshit she can do when it comes to things like these. She's particularly good at it, illusioning taste, smells, messing with sensory perceptions, intensifying and reducing feeling and touch. It's exactly why she enjoys telepaths in the first place, the ability to make contact exceptionally memorable and pleasurable. She is, after all, Emma Frost's daughter, having learned from the source itself.

She's just, you know, giving him a moment before she jumps into that. Right now, however, she's taking in how his lips feel against her, moving in a waltz that is gentle. Before he breaks the kiss, she allows for her lips to take in his bottom one with a little nibble.)

Maybe, yeah.

(There's a smile on her face, a little playful grin that is brought to his lips again in a peck.)

I definitely wouldn't mind doing this every time before you go, either.

( Nate is capable of feeling everything from everyone. Because of that, a lot of the time, he needs to shield himself from others lest he end up drowning in thoughts and feelings and things that aren’t even his. It’s a double-edged sword a lot of the time, he’s coming to find. It makes him useful in being able to relate to and understand others and what they might be struggling to convey with words or to another. At the same time, he can lose himself — become overwhelmed in so much that isn't his, that it becomes too much even for him to feel. He’s capable of feeling what others feel and on the other side of that coin, capable of making them feel what he feels. That’s why he needs to shield himself. Let it all become white noise.

With another telepath, however, there’s this song and dance of each being able to penetrate the others shields — unless they’re really that thick in the moment — to a degree so intimately that he hasn’t ever really done or felt with another before. Because he’s always been on the giving end. The receiving? Not so much.

His shields aren’t exactly ironclad at the moment and when she nips at his bottom lip, the breath that leaves him is one both soft and hitched, a little skip to his heartbeat. He smiles. )

Oh, is that how it’s gonna go now?

( There’s a playful sweetness in the way he asks that — in the way he noses at her, brow still pressed to hers. )

Better tell Aurora to sign me up for every dangerous mission then.

( The words are a soft murmur before he’s pushing away the shyness residing within him and kissing her a little more earnestly this time. )

(Sophie doesn't have the same range, the same capacities, nor half his empathy or power to care. She doesn't pay too much attention to what she listens to and what she picks up from others, so unlike him, who needs to shield himself from all of it, she just ignores it all, like water on a duck's back... Unless it's interesting.

This doesn't feel like the most reasonable choice she can make, but she's so horribly lonely, and there is nothing more soothing than a handsome man holding her close to erase that for a little while. Nate never failed to make her smile and feel a little special, so that selfish part of her is taking over. To feel something good after the fights she has had ever since she arrived here, the disappointment over Krakoa, the fuck ups, the ups and the downs, mostly the downs.

Let her forget it for just a second.

As a telepath, however, she tends to be a sharer. It's automatic to give and take, it's how she is used to experiencing the world — connectiveness. She's moving past that shield, letting him feel the warmth on her skin, the tightness in her lungs, the goosebumps on the back of her neck when she hears that breath.)

Not allowed. What if she doesn't let give you a break? Then you won't have time to do this.

(She's never going to deny him a kiss, but since this one is more eager than the last, she's moving back until she finds her desk to sit on.)

( The moment she moves back for her desk, he helps her up on it, hands resting flat on the surface of it on either side of her. He leans in a little, head tilted, hair falling gently in front of his face, smile softly worn there on his lips. Part of him remembers where they are — how it's not just the two of them here. But at the same time, it very much feels like it is just them. )

You don't think I could sneak a few moments away from whatever mission for some of this?

( His smile brightens in a way that almost lights his eyes up and the chuckle that leaves him is soft and playful, a drop of his gaze as he licks over his lips for a second. )

It's what we're good at, isn't it?

( Glancing up, he smiles still. )
